6 Tips To Help You Lose Your Gut

tips for losing your gut

#5. DRINK MORE WATER
Dehydration lowers your performance both mentally and physically. So how much water should you drink per day? Unfortunately, there’s no easy answer. The Institute of Medicine suggests men drink about 13 cups per day. However, if you’re pissing yourself every three minutes, change your pants and scale back your water intake. “Always carry water with you and drink before, during, and after meals,” Dr. Life suggests. “Water is near ‘magical’ to promoting weight loss.”

#6. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Don’t live your life on a scale while holding a vomit bucket next to you on the chances you’ve gained a pound or two. Instead, Dr. Life recommends keeping tabs on yourself visually. Why? Numbers aren’t always an indicator as to how fit you’re becoming. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you could be losing weight and packing on muscle if you’ve been hitting the gym hard. Visually you’ll look better, but the scale might confuse you.

“Take a ‘before’ picture of yourself in a bathing suit with your cell phone, and look at it every day to motivate you to make good choices,” says Dr. Life.

If it helps you get healthier and into better shape, you should feel no shame about taking a selfie.
