5. IT’S ABOUT DOPEY! SORTA!
One of the strangest readings involves a sticker on Danny’s bedroom door of Dopey from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It’s clearly shown in the foreground of a shot early in the film, then mysteriously vanishes in a similar shot later on. Normal people would dismiss this as the screw-up of a set designer or continuity person — or not notice it at all — but others with a lot of time on their hands have concluded that Dopey’s disappearance suggests that Danny is no longer a “dope.” He is now jaded and aware and enlightened. Yeah, we don’t get it either.
