Running barefoot is not healthy or safe in any way. The foot is not meant to run, it is meant to stabilize us. Adaptations from evolution have resulted in our current foot "design". In order to run without detriment, running shoes are required. You're only doing yourself a disservice by abandoning shoes. Good luck.

I ran Sunday in my new Luna Sandals made by Barefoot Ted for barefoot-like running, and it felt so good to run that way. The freedom that the foot feels should be experienced. The trick is to build up slowly since some of the foot muscles need to be strengthened.

Most runners run on these man made unforgiving surfaces. Running shoes provide cushion which is a compensation for this. And Graham, I bet you the people who finished before you had shoes on.

The shoes space has increased a little and the comfort (cushioning) near the toes is much more improved and feels so good. I basically have a flat foot so the duomax provides the hump to make my foot feel like a normal arch. The Gel cushioning is similar to the 17 and feels good. These are the best shoes and I would recommend them to my friends. It feels like I am walking on some cloud! These are pricey now as they are just released and I will sure get one more after the price has gone down. Love these shoes! Awesome!
