TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES
In the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie, the car horn in the Turtle’s van played the theme song from the cartoon. But you probably didn’t see that movie — the one with Megan Fox — because, well, it starred Megan Fox and it totally sucked.
The concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was intended to be a humorous mutation of the Daredevil comics. The Turtles were mutated by the same canister of radioactive material that changed Steve Murdock into Daredevil. Daredevil was trained by The Stick and fought a group of ninjas called The Hand. The Turtles were ninjas trained by Splinter and fought The Foot.
Also, the original Turtles comic book was dark and bloody. So, the opposite of what the cartoon that debuted in 1987 became.
