Even worse, women read a lot into first impressions. This means that unless you’re able to give her an enjoyable evening, odds are that you won’t be getting a second chance.
Before you go taking your dream girl to dinner and a movie, remember that every guy in the world has tried this strategy before. While there’s certainly nothing wrong with it, you want your evening to be a bit more memorable. To achieve this, simply try one of the following universally fun ideas for a first date.
Dinner and Bowling
Nearly all towns have a bowling ally attached to a casual diner. Sure, this date isn’t as fancy as a candlelit dinner, but the relaxed atmosphere will help the two of you have more fun. The lack of distraction and pressure also means that you’ll get to know each other better, all while taking part in some friendly competition.

If you’re trying to come up with some more romantic ideas for a first date, the aquarium is your best bet. The dim lights and soft ocean noises help set the mood as the two of you stroll down the hallway. At the same time, the sea creatures are enchanting enough to guarantee a memorable time.
While it’s usually a good idea to stay away from sport activities as ideas for a first date, mini golf is the exception. You don’t have to be particularly athletic to have a good time. Even better, many mini golf courses also have nearby arcades or go-kart courses. Letting your inner child out is a great way to show your date that you know how to show her a good time.
