As far as football flicks go, this one should probably sit on the bench, although it was backhandedly praised by Roger Ebert for exposing some of the ethical problems with college football. Coach Rig — technically he’s an assistant coach, but he leads the team when it counts — must deal with players who include Sinbad, Scott Bakula, and a supermodel. (Come to think of it, we’d totally root for that team.) Nevertheless, he leads the Fightin’ Armadillos to a victory over the No. 1 team in the nation by calling for a totally illegal two-point conversion as time expires.
