It’s weird to see how certain TV shows become cult classics, and yet never manage to reach a second season. There’s a variety of completely brilliant shows out there that, for one reason or another, didn’t make it to ‘that fabled season two’. Each time, it can be a different reason. Sometimes producers couldn’t see the potential and were generally disappointed by bad ratings and criticism, or other times it can just boil down to the ultimate foe of movies and TV shows - bad timing. Whatever the reason might be, some of these shows did, in fact, become classics and largely thanks the support from true-hearted fans.

It arrived on TV screens in 2002 and became a cult show. Set 500 years in the future, the show follows a small renegade crew of a Firefly-type spacecraft. It’s a cruel universe and surviving is not easy, especially when you’re constantly in danger of being caught by the authorities. The cast The cast features Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin and more. Firefly is a series that never made it to its second season, but thanks to an incredible support from fans worldwide, the show had a DVD release and even managed to persuade Universal Pictures to release the movie ‘Serenity’ which was set in the same universe. Even after all these years, the Firefly community is still one of the strongest fanbases out there.
