Worried you stink? Then you probably do. The good news? It’s an easy fix. Unless your doctor has told you that you have focal hyperhidrosis — also known as “freakishly overactive sweat glands” — proper hygiene and the right products should do the trick.
But there are a lot of underarm sweat blockers and odor preventers to choose from, so how do you know which are the best deodorants and antiperspirants for men? Should you get unscented deodorant or “marine”-scented antiperspirant? Hippie deodorant made out of a “crystal,” or a fragrant spray gel?
Texture and personal preference aside, what we really care about here is what works. Remember: Deodorant masks odor, but you’ll still sweat like a pig; antiperspirant masks smell and blocks sweat.
#1. DRYSOL ($15 @ Amazon.com)
Drysol was engineered with the power to truly help those who are cursed with clinically overactive sweat glands. In fact, some users report that they need to apply it once a week. However, if you’re a guy who stays away from grooming products with aluminum in it, be advised that Drysol contains 12 percent Aluminum Chloride. If that’s the case, you’re better off with a natural deodorant or antiperspirant.
