Why Do Actors Bad-Mouth Their Own Movies?

Jim Carrey, the man who made it big by talking with his ass cheeks, has decided he’s not happy about the fact that he’s in the upcoming movie Kick-Ass 2. Why? We’ll let him tell you, via his Twitter account:

“I did Kickass [sic] a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence. My apologies to others involve [sic] with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart.”

Apparently, he didn’t understand that the follow-up to the ultra-violent Kick-Ass would be … violent? Or wait. He did understand that, but when a madman killed a bunch of little kids in Connecticut, that totally changed his attitude toward violent movies. So he’s not going to “support” the movie. That must mean his next tweet is going to be about how he’s giving the millions of dollars he was paid to star in Kick-Ass 2 to the families of the Sandy Hook victims. Right, Jim?

Anyway, Jim Carrey, freshly enriched by starring in a movie he says is too violent to support, is hardly the first star to shit on a movie he or she was in (though he is unusual for shitting on the movie before it even came out) …
