Why Your Suit Lining Matters
The lining of your suit isn’t your first concern — but it should be a concern. Tom Kearnan from online suit retailer Indochino explains why.

Looks aside, the lining serves a functional purpose as well.
“A smooth lining is important for ease of wear, helping the garment to slide on and off over clothing,” he says. “It can also extend the life of a garment — sous bras, which are built into the linings of all our suits, help jackets stay fresh. A suit can also be half lined, whereby the seams are taped, or unlined, in which case only the sleeves are lined. The lining adds warmth in cooler weather so a half lined jacket can be a good option for summer blazers.”
