Braveheart (1995) – “What Will You Do Without Freedom?”
Mel Gibson’s directorial debut, Breaveheart, wasn’t just a terrific movie, but it also set off a chain reaction of brilliant Hollywood big-screen epics that followed in its footsteps. Mel Gibson riding around on a horse and delivering a speech to an unmotivated and pretty angry Scottish army, seems almost like second nature to him. All the Scotsmen were obviously disheartened by the mere sight of an overwhelming enemy, albeit it was the voice of Williams Wallace who gave meaning to the fight and meaning to the battle with one simple sentiment – you fight you die, you run and you’ll live… but in chains and without freedom. Your choice folks.
