Precautions
Individuals with these conditions should not use Modafinil:
-Heart conditions or heart valve issues such as left ventricular hypertrophy or mitral valve prolapse
-Allergies to any ingredient contained in armodafinil or modafinil
-History of a rash after using modafinil
Individuals with these circumstances or conditions need to consult with their medical care provider before taking modafinil:
-Allergies
-Pregnant or breastfeeding
-Currently taking any prescription, non-prescription, or herbal medications (interactions with certain medications will be listed next)
-History of mood or mental disorders
-Liver conditions
-Heart conditions
-Kidney related conditions
Medications such as monoamine oxidase inhibitors, cyclosporine, erythromycin and ketoconazole, carbamazepine, and clomipramine may create negative interactions with modafinil. Individuals are advised to refrain from alcohol, driving or performing potentially unsafe acts when taking modafinil. Modafinil is not approved for use in children under 12 as well as the elderly.
