Pew! Pew! The Arcade-Button Light Switch

lightswitch300A long, long time ago — like all the way back in the 1980s — video games were played using nothing more than a couple of buttons and a joystick. While controllers simple enough for Grandpa to use probably won’t make a big comeback any time soon, vintage gamers can be reminded of their glory days every time they flip a light on or off with Aleph Design’s Working Arcade Light Switch ($45).

You decide whether the custom switches come with green, red, yellow, blue, white, black, purple, or orange buttons, and you install them just like you would any other light switch. But if you want to avoid blowing out your circuit breakers, we’d advise against mashing them with the same force vintage geeks used while playing Space Invaders.
