Apple’s fingerprint technology is available on the iPhone 5S. They’ve even declared their Touch ID system “one of the best passwords in the world.” With it you can unlock your iPhone, shop at the App Store, and use iTunes and iBooks with your prints.
The problem? Our fingerprints are left on everything we touch, and getting a set of new prints isn’t so simple if yours get jacked.
Plus, Touch ID was hacked by a German group 48 hours after its launch. What did the hackers claim was the most difficult task of the hack? Finding an iPhone 5S, since most were sold out. Minnesota Sen. Stuart Smalley Al Franken has already challenged Apple’s security measures in an open letter that he wants answered in the coming months.
