DUMBBELL SPLIT SQUAT

The glutes and quads are among the largest muscle groups in the body, so working them requires the body to use a lot of energy. That translates into lots of calories burned.

How to do it:

• Grab two dumbbells and stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
• Let the dumbbells hang by your side and take a big step forward with one foot; do not allow the knee to go past the tip of the toes.
• Squat down and keep your back erect (heh heh) as you lower the rear knee until it grazes the floor.
• Return to the starting position by pushing up with the front leg; that’s one rep for one leg.
• Repeat.
• Rest 30-60 seconds after reps are completed for both legs.
