METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE
Systems: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3
While the Metal Gear Solid games are usually about being sneaky, this spin-off instead has you, as the cyborg-ninja-pretty-boy Raiden, slicing and dicing bad guys like a chef with a Gunsu knife. Which is probably for the best, since your enemies include cyborgs and robots, which tend to have pretty good hearing.

TOMB RAIDER
Systems: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC
Rebooting the long-running series, this third-person acrobatic adventure reveals how a teenage Lara Croft learned how to do all those crazy flips and leaps while shooting dual pistols like she’s in a John Woo movie. Since this all happens while on a not-so-deserted island, Lara also has to learn some survival skills as well. Another difference from all its predecessors? Judging by the trailer, the storyline of this Tomb Raider is darker than a … a … a place underground where bodies are buried.
