These Steve Bannon Quotes Make Steve Bannon Seem Kinda Normal

Incident: Promoting another of his documentaries, Bannon describes the effect he hoped the film would have on its audience. The film, Generation Zero, addressed the 2007-2008 financial crises in bleak terms and attributed it to the short-comings of the baby boomers that came of age in the 1960s. The film echoes many themes in the political rhetoric of the right-of-center and Bannon’s own misgivings about the globalist movement. One could argue that there is some truth to this statement — as downbeat as it may be.

While the fear quote is true in some senses, making people hysterical or riling them up regarding race or religion isn’t such a great idea. Case and point: Charlottesville, Virginia.

Incident: Speaking over two years ahead of the Brexit vote in the U.K., Bannon is here quoted in a New York Times article entitled “Breitbart News Network Plans Global Expansion.” The article describes how Brietbart is busy adding staff to Brietbart’s London and Texas offices. It then quotes Bannon as stating that London and Texas are “two fronts in our current cultural and political war.” The article presents a factual overview of Bannon’s political views. In hindsight, His comment foreshadows the political and social currents visible in 2016 and beyond.
