Inside Mike Tyson’s Abandoned Mansion

Back in the 1990s, the legendary boxer lived in this house like a king … a zebra-print-carpet-loving, cash-hemorrhaging, mentally ill king.

Hey, look— an unbelievably garish mansion formerly owned by Mike Tyson that now appears to be the homebase for armies of raging meth addicts. Good ol’ Las Vegas!

Actually, it’s not in Las Vegas. This monument to insanity and bad taste is located in Southington, Ohio. Tyson lived there for a period of time in the 1990s — further evidence of the depths of his madness.

Speaking of madness, check out this gold ceiling. “You know what I’d like? For my living room to make me feel as though I’m in a disco. In 1985. In Tel Aviv.”

Who knows what he kept in this rusty steel cage. His Bengal tigers? His pet pigeons? His sparring partners?

Alicia Williams (Mon, 31 Oct 2011 02:55:50 +0000): Okay you deff. Can not go onto this prpperty and check out the place. The road is so busy no place to park and the neighbor lives by the "country law shoot first ask last. Not to mention the sheriff only takes like 5minutes to get there and if u r on the left side of road u will be arrested, the sheriffs however r deffinately cute.

Linda Wolford (Wed, 29 Feb 2012 14:00:45 +0000): l once watched a movie in that house...it was sooo beautiful..and it's a shame it looks like that today. The spiral staircasr went up to his private locked bedroom...and the cages were where he wanted to keep tigets..befors that was overturned. lt has a small security house in the front. l knew someone who worked for him at the time..that it was at it's best. lt's just so sad...that someone can't renovate that place.
Christine Semirosum (Thu, 01 Mar 2012 09:10:34 +0000): Does anyone know why he abandoned his mansion? hes still alive right? Al these celebs keep dropping it seems like...

Tracy McCullough-Shorten (Sat, 20 Oct 2012 05:07:45 +0000): because the dirt bag declared bankruptcy and it BROKE. Blew it all. What a waste.

Jerry Jones (Thu, 05 Sep 2013 18:49:40 +0000): would love to renovate the place.
Derrick Sly (Mon, 21 Oct 2013 05:12:20 +0000): Tracy McCullough-Shorten Unless I am much mistaken, he actually sold it before he declared bankruptcy, because he was no longer being managed by Don King, and therefore no longer using the training camps in Orwell, which i about 20 miles from where this house is located. And to the person that made this post, that is also why Tyson lived in Southington to begin with. Don King's estate is actually 15 miles up the road in Windsor, Ohio.
Billie Blacketer (Mon, 27 Jan 2014 15:08:28 +0000): Derrick Sly Thank you I'm not sure why she called Mike a dirt bag he's done a lot of good for many many kids as well as adults.
Billie Blacketer (Mon, 27 Jan 2014 15:11:41 +0000): That is one mansion I would love to live in it's soooo beautiful. I dearly love old mansions they have so much character.
Janet Myers (Sat, 29 Mar 2014 05:39:35 +0000): why did they let such a beautiful property fall into disrepair.
