#2. GIN
A nice mixer for spring and summer drinks like a gin and tonic, martini, or the Negroni. Not as popular or versatile as vodka, but it’s still a crowd pleaser.
Varsity: Beefeater Burrough’s Reserve ($80)
It’s worth the investment; this small batch gin was given the gold by the IWSC.
JV: Plymouth English Gin ($25)
It isn’t costly and even got a shout-out from the New York Times for its quality.
Make a Negroni:
• 1 1/2 oz. sweet vermouth
• 1.5 oz. Campari
• 1.5 oz. gin
• Orange slice or twist for garnish
