Men’s Fall Fashion: Tips For Wearing Ties

6 Tips For Wearing Ties This Fall for fat guys

#5. FOR BIGGER DUDES
If you’re big boned, bulky, hefty, chunky — whatever the hell you want to call the spare-tire look, Sigala has a few ideas for you to look less puffy. “Pay attention to detail,” he says. “The sloppier you look, the heavier you will appear. Work accessories into your outfit, and make sure they’re proportional to your size.”

He continues, “Don’t wear a watch that’s too small, or a tie that’s too narrow. Avoid skinny ties. Lose your ill-fitting clothes or take them to a tailor. It might take extra effort to find things that fit just right, but it’s worth it. Also, avoid anything with horizontal stripes. They’ll make you look wider.”

#6. FOR SKINNY DUDES
If your midsection looks like a flag pole, you’re essentially in the same spot as bulky guys. And attention to detail is key. “Ill-fitting clothes will only make you appear to be drowning in your clothes. Avoid the ‘regular’ fit clothing for more slim to tailored fits,” Sigala recommends. “Again, keep it proportional. Think smaller watch and skinny tie. Avoid vertical stripes but try horizontal. The former is slimming while the latter gives the illusion of more body mass.”

Sigala’s final tip: Try things on. “Guys tend to be too lazy to ever try things on,” he says. “Do yourself a favor and make sure you like it and that it fits before dropping the money.”
