THE PAY
Pay for bartenders varies widely across the country, and incomes can range anywhere from $100 to $800 a day in tips. In fact, heavy-partying cities such as Vegas can employ bartenders with six-figure yearly salaries without breaking a sweat. Why?
“Bartenders generally earn more than mixologists because of the rate of consumption,” Lamberti explains. “In a local bar, patrons are more likely to order a beer than a complicated cocktail. And since it takes less time to open the beer, and more time to make (and drink) the five ingredient cocktail, bartenders are refilling orders much faster.”
