PRO: IT COULD HELP WITH BUDGET DEFICITS
According to Harvard economists, the government could save $7.7 billion a year by not enforcing marijuana laws. And if pot is regulated and taxed the same way as alcohol and tobacco, it’d net an additional $6 billion each year on top of that.

CON: THE GOVERNMENT WILL JUST WASTE THAT MONEY
The role and effectiveness of government is a discussion for another day. So yet again, this is an argument that doesn’t actually address the issue of pot legalization.
