11. “The Shining” was the only movie that starred child actor Dan Lloyd who apparently did not know he was shooting a horror movie but thought that he was filming a drama. Kubrick was highly protective of the child and wanted to shield him from the truth. Young Danny did not see the uncut version of the movie until he was 17, eleven years after he had made it.

12. The baseball bat which Wendy uses to hit Jack was signed by Boston Red Sox baseball legend Carl Yastrzemski.

13. There are some who believe that the U.S. moon landing was faked and that Kubrick produced and directed it. The movie supposedly served as his confession, with Kubrick placing clues throughout the film, such as the Apollo 11 sweater that the character Danny was seen wearing during shooting.
