11) Cultural traditions
Different cultures have different traditions when it comes to underwear. For example, Italians wear red underwear; Argentineans wear pink underwear; and Brazilians wear new, unworn underwear for New Year’s Eve. Many Americans wear new underwear for New Year’s as well, but mostly because most are hoping that someone will be drunk enough to think they’re attractive enough to have sex with.

Because the U.S. population is aging, the market for new underwear is slowing down. However, it is also important to note the significant growth potential in other countries, due to trends toward western fashion, increasing income levels, and growing populations.
