#3. Know About The Adoption Shelter
Adopting a dog — which sometimes is essentially freeing it from an enslaved and sad existence — makes you one of the good guys. And adoption shelters come down to kill shelters and no-kill shelters. They are exactly what they sound like. If you visit a no-kill shelter you’ll be dealing with dogs that are in doggie purgatory waiting for a home. But if you go to a kill shelter, prepare to have your heartstrings yanked right out of your chest, because you’re basically visiting puppy death row.
