#4. Olds Dogs Have Their Advantages
Puppies are supremely cute and will attract flocks of shrieking women right to your feet. That’s inarguably an amazing perk of owning a pup. But puppies also shit all over your apartment, love the taste of shoe leather, and need lots of exercise. Old dogs are usually more mellow, need less exercise, and are already house-trained. They make great first dogs, or dogs for guys who work a lot, have active social lives, and don’t have the boatloads of time it takes to properly train and socialize a puppy.
