A Holiday Season for Gaming

The holiday season is quickly approaching and it’s looking like it’s going to be a great time to further stock our man cave with newer tech – but it has been a tough year and we may need to prioritise what we get first, so how are the consoles shaping out, what is PC hardware looking like, and is mobile gaming really looking to be the future?

Mobile gaming? – It has been suggested that over 50% of all gaming done is now on the mobile platform and it isn’t too surprising, it’s likely that some of you certainly make use of it for the growing number of gambling or sports betting sites at Max Casinos that aren’t registered to certain initiatives such as Gamstop that have been aimed at restriction play options. Mobile games have come a long way however and the introduction of VR and other tech certainly provide some fun gaming experiences whilst waiting for new PC hardware or for your console of choice.

Next-gen consoles – Of course for many the biggest news has come with the announcement earlier this year for the next generation consoles from both Sony and Microsoft, and everyone will have their preference. Both are looking to be very strong choices, however, with changes in architecture for storage and performance, players will be able to make use of the higher framerates and the much better performance that will come with the consoles. There are a number of exclusives that will be launching with each console with Sony edging a little further ahead here, but players may have to wait a little longer before they can fill their catalogues with newer titles as many releases will likely wait until a little closer to Christmas.

PC gaming – The PC gamers may be in for a very exciting Christmas period however granted the supply of the new hardware can keep up with the demand – with the announcement of Nvidia’s newest 3K series of graphics card that had come with some impressive benchmarks at a lower cost than the higher end 2K series, it had certainly been looking like a surely fire upgrade for some. Options are certainly looking a little more open after both announcements from AMD however – whilst it was expected that the Zen3 CPU’s would be very strong upgrade options as even Zen2 had been edging ahead of Intel offerings, the latest announcement and benchmarking of the AMD Big Navi GPU line which will finally compete with Nvidia and provide choices for gamers, which may be particularly impactful with supply issues found with Nvidia early on.

Either way it’s going to be an exciting holiday period with the growing number of gaming options available, many fans will still be waiting on this years big releases in titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, and any future announced title set to release a little closer to Christmas, but all the information is available to start making some choices if you’re a bit limited, or for the lucky few that can upgrade all at once, the struggle to find the time to get the best out of each option.
