EVENT: GAME 7 OF THE NHL STANLEY CUP FINALS RANGERS
YEAR: 1994
The Rangers managed to snap a 54-year championship drought by defeating the Vancouver Canucks in what many hockey fans consider one of the most thrilling Stanley Cup finals in history. It was the fourth championship in franchise history and served as a milestone for Rangers captain Mark Messier, who scored the go-ahead goal that gave New York a 3-2 edge on his way to becoming the first player in NHL history to captain two championship-winning teams. (The other team: the Oilers.)
