- U.K.: French letters or English Cups (La capote anglaise).
- Chinese: baoxian (insurance glove).
- Hungarian: ovsver literally means ‘safety tool’
- Hong Kong: pei dang vi or ‘bullet proof vest’.
- Danish: svangerskabsforebyggendemiddel, the official word for birth control.
