Harrison Ford (Star Wars)

When George Lucas filmed his classic trilogy (1977-1983) one of his many challenges was to decide what should be done with the character of the galaxy’s biggest swashbuckler, Han Solo. After the Empire Strikes Back ended, Harrison Ford (who plays Solo) approached Lucas and said: “Why don’t you kill him off?” In an interview Harrison explained his feelings on the matter: “He [Solo] has got no mamma or papa. He has no story responsibilities at this point.” Regardless, George Lucas decided to bring the character back in Return of the Jedi. Of course, as fate would have it, Harrison wishes were at long last fulfilled, but only with the recent release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
