#1. FIND THE RIGHT TRAINING PARTNER
A University of Kansas study showed that a workout partner that’s slightly more advanced and who’s not overly vocal — read: he doesn’t scream in your face and drip spit into your mouth while you do your reps — can help create better workouts. However, pick the wrong spotter and, well, you’re going to end up like this guy. Spotting someone is more about timing than effort. The objective is to move the bar or weight just enough to usher the lifter past a sticking point or the point of failure, not lift the weight for them.
