It’s 101 stuff, right? When you’re using heavy weight use collars (or clamps). And don’t try to ego lift. Honestly, unless you’re trying to break a World’s Strongest Man record, nobody cares how much weight you’re lifting. Plus, it might not even matter. A new study published in the New York Times found that using light to medium weight can be just as effective in building muscle and strength as heavy weight.  Going lighter is easier on your joints and tendons, too.
