10 Things Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Needs To Be Good

10. THE BADASS RETURN OF AGENT PHIL COULSON
The death of fan-favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. operative agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) in The Avengers sent many a tear rolling down the rosacea-y cheek of viewers. Well, spoiler alert: Agent Coulson may not have, like, died died in The Avengers. While the promos have not kept Coulson’s return a secret, they haven’t revealed how or why he’s back from the dead.

We’re hoping we don’t get, “Oh, Loki missed my heart by the same fraction of an inch that the shrapnel missed Tony Stark’s heart! Or, “Oh, man, was I ever glad I sent my life model decoy to take on Loki while I was in the can!”

Avoid magical means altogether, Whedon, and tell us that Coulson 2.0 might be more machine than man. Which of course will pave the way for Gregg to eventually become Marvel’s dry-humored android with a heart of gold — The Vision! Make it so; the character has earned the right to a cool costume.
