Roy Munson (Woody Harrelson) is a bald, poor, drunk loser forced to sexually pleasure his horror-movie landlordess because he never has rent. He was once a bowling prodigy, but he now has a prosthetic rubber bowling hand thanks to a long-ago double-cross by bowling champ Ernie McCracken (Bill Murrary).

Then Roy discovers Ishmael Boorg (Randy Quaid), and boy can that Amish fella bowl. Roy enters Ish in a million-dollar bowling tourney … only to have his plan thwarted when Ishmael fractures his throwing hand. The injury forces Munson out of retirement, where he plays against McCracken in the final and … loses?

It’s okay though; Roy wins a $500,000 sponsorship deal from Trojan condoms (because of his rubber hand, get it?), quits drinking booze, and scores a hot chick. See? Much better than Rudy.
